Lucy in the
Sky
by Judy Irish - 1st Place |

Carrol McVey and I loved the wild stars in Jan
Krentz's Lone Star Quilts & Beyond. I
bugged Carrol to piece one so that I could
machine-quilt it. We both love it. The
question is - who gets custody? |

Scrappy Stars

This happy
arrangement of stars, made from "scraps", was
started in a class taught by Sally Schneider.
Kathleen Steinke did the machine quilting on her
home sewing machine. |

Flying Cranes
by Mary Hickey - 3rd Place |
 |
|
The green
fabric with Japanese style cranes was the start
and the traditional "Swallow" block's fluttery
look seemed just the right block to give the sense
of flying. I replaced some medium-size
squares with one large piece to showcase the crane
fabric. Machine quilted by Dawn Kelly. |
