I Can't Believe the Scrap Basket Isn't
Empty!

| I love the
accuracy of paper piecing and this quilt, inspired
by "Pineapple Splash" in Rich Traditions by
Nancy Mahoney, really had great appeal. I
had an overflowing scrap basket and thought that
this would be a great use of a lot of small
scraps. (I think they actually multiplied
when the lights were out in the sewing room.)
I set the quilt on point as I liked the design
change that it produced. Quilted by Janet
Fogg, Lake Oswego, OR. |

Sweet Bird of Freedom

This
traditional Drunkard's Path quilt was completed on
the day that the USA declared war on Iraq.
It is in celebration of peace and freedom
worldwide; may we all work towards that end.
I made it in honor of my 81 year-old father, Ren
C. Campbell, Jr., and his contribution as an
enlisted man during World Was II. For three
years, he served as a Marine stationed in the
South Pacific where he contracted both malaria and
elephantiasis. Quilted by Kathy Staley. |

Family Gathering

This quilt,
modified from Judy Martin's "Star Happy" pattern,
was designed for Grandma's 85th birthday.
Every family member is represented in a picture
and a star. The pictures were printed using
the Printed Treasures fabric paper. The
Norwegian table prayer is a long-standing family
tradition. Grandma's tears expressed her joy
of knowing how much love was put into the making
of this gift. Pieced by Jennifer and Sue
Krause. Quilted by Jennifer Krause. |
