Practice Makes Perfect.....Or Not! by Cherie Getchman - 1st Place

If quilts had ears, this quilt would have wonderful stories to tell, not to mention great secrets!  It has been an old standby when there was nothing else to work on at my satellite group.  It's been on trips and out camping.  Pieced about 15 years ago when I was just beginning to quilt, this year it finally got some quality time!

October Country by Pam Pifer - 2nd Place
Sara Nephew asked some of us in our Thursday group to test patterns for her new book, Serendipity Quilts.  I wanted to do it in fall colors, but was having a hard time picking the repeat fabric until my group went on Shop Hop two years ago.  I stood looking at a fabric as they literally surrounded me and kept me there until I agreed to buy this fabric - they are a pushy bunch.  I love the result and named it for my husband, Larry, who is a big Ray Bradbury fan.
