purchased block-of-the-month pattern, by Laura
Heine, that I loved on sight. It was so much
fun to do as I really like to appliqué. The
colors are so vivid against the dark background
and the sashing sets them off. I thought it
needed to be hand quilted so Delayne LaVallie did
that for me. |

My mother's
elderly friend often embroidered blocks for their
raffle quilts at the Yelm Senior Center.
When she stopped embroidering more than 10 years
ago she called to sell the extra blocks. I
could only afford 6, at $3 each, but Mom bought
the other 6 and gave them to me the following
Christmas. |

Michell) and it took me two years to finish it.
I took it in for show and tell when I started my
3rd block of the month quilt with the same shop.
I think they thought that I would never get it
