Una Sera a Venezia by
Bernie Noice - 1st Place |
 |
| "Quilts of
Comfort", a group of volunteers at Evergreen
Hospital Medical Center (Kirkland, Washington),
was asked to make a quit for the hospital's
annual gala/auction. The theme for the
event this April is "An Evening in Venice"; the
title of the quilt is the same in Italian.
Machine pieced, hand and machine quilted. |

Welcome to the North

This began as
an Internet block swap in 1997. The swap
dwindled off as some quilters were overwhelmed
by the tiny hand appliqué designs. I
credit Judy Meyer (VA) for encouraging me with
her gorgeous blocks (Candy cane, Bunkhouse,
Wangs Carryout and Mr. & Mrs. Claus), and thank
Piece 'O Cake for the whimsical fun design.

Trapped Within by

| This was
a row robin that I was in that took place off
the internet. I had to apply to be part of
this group. I love the colors and I love
the way it makes me feel when I look at it.

Christmas Round
Robin by Eileen Schroeder - HM |
 |
|
"Christmas Round Robin" is my quilt from a round
robin exchange project in the Running Stitches
Satellite group about four years ago. I
loved how the top turned out. It has taken
so long to finish because it was layered with a
warm and natural batting and then I chose to
begin hand quilting because I wanted to have a
carry along project. The center block is
from "The Block Book" by Judy Martin.
