#2510 ~ Welcome to the North
Pole by Linda Simmons - 1st Place |
 |
|
Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins must have had
fun creating this pattern because it was such
fun to recreate. Each building has its own
charm and embellishing it with beads was even
more fun. Not being a machine quilter, I found
it a challenge to do justice to the atmosphere
of the village. (Beading followed the quilting
process). Hand-pieced. Hand-appliquéd.
Machine-quilted. |

#2516 ~ Juniper and Pine by
Louise Temples - 2nd
Place |

The "Juniper and Pine" pattern is from the
More Joy to the World book by Nancy Smith
and Lynda Miligan. The only variation I made is
the 3-D effect for the corner poinsettias.
Machine-pieced. Machine-appliquéd.

#2515 ~ Mama's Song by Joyce
Fleckenstein - 3rd Place |
 |
|
I grew up in Spokane where the countryside often
looked like this as we visted family in the
Palouse area. I can still hear my mother
singing this to me. Hand- and machine-pieced.
Machine-quilted. Pattern: "Crabapple Hill."
